The response of officials and lawmakers to a West Chicago teacher’s social media post supporting federal law enforcement operations deserves both criticism and condemnation. The West Chicago teacher’s personal Facebook post stating “Go ICE” is a simple statement supporting law enforcement and protected by the First Amendment.

"I was among those who said this was coming from the start. As I wrote in 2021, when the state’s clean energy bill was being debated, the plan’s emissions goals were unachievable and certain to result in higher prices and shortages. Gov. Pritzker nevertheless signed off on an 800-page, pork-filled omnibus favoring special interests."

Ted Dabrowski criticized Heidner’s business operation contributing $2,500 to the campaign of former Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and $25,000 to Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson — two progressive Democrats frequently targeted by Republicans.

"At the bottom of all these crazy budgets, all these deficits, all these tax hikes are everyday Illinoisans who are just getting whacked," Dabrowski said at a recent press conference on the matter of Illinois’ tax woes and Pritzker’s oversight of state programs.

"In the wake of the enormous fraud in Minnesota, the massive increases in spending in Illinois, and the state's own history of fraud and corruption, calling for an audit of that spending is the responsible thing to do," Dabrowski said in a statement to The Center Square. "Why is the Governor afraid of transparency?”

During a press conference on Tuesday, gubernatorial candidate Ted Dabrowski demanded Gov. J.B. Pritzker defend the massive growth in state Human Services spending and called for a forensic audit.

Dr. Carrie Mendoza, an emergency medicine physician and the running mate for Republican gubernatorial candidate Ted Dabrowski, also warned about the law’s impact on vulnerable populations. “The very people this law will threaten most are the same people Pritzker claims to champion: minorities, women, and the vulnerable, the disabled and the disenfranchised,” Mendoza warned.

The mass transit bill Pritzker just signed bails out a corrupt and bloated system at the expense of taxpayers across the state. Quality public transit is essential for any big city, but operations should fit today’s ridership reality. And common-sense cost-cutting shouldn’t be ignored when clearly needed.

What is most sinister is that the very people this law will threaten most are the same people Pritzker claims to champion: minorities, women, and the vulnerable, the disabled and the disenfranchised.

This new law reallocates finite public resources from our citizens to a massive pool of noncitizens, 550,000 of which are in Illinois. Every MAP grant and other form of assistance can be diverted to noncitizens, stealing from Illinoisans who played by the rules and paid into the system for years. This is an appalling betrayal of Illinois students and parents already overwhelmed by higher education costs and cutbacks in financial assistance.

Normalizing government dependency, as Cook County’s program clearly seeks to do, is destructive at a time when Illinoisans, especially in Cook County, are already reeling from huge tax increases. Our compassion must be directed to promoting real solutions like more jobs, better schools and more economic opportunity, not blind handouts.

Excuse my paraphrasing of Public Enemy, but to answer a question recently posed by the media — “What’s the point of Illinois Republicans?” — the point is to fight the powers that be. In one sense, that question posed by the Tribune Editorial Board is insulting. In another sense, it is fair.

"The point of the Republican Party is to conserve the amazing assets Illinois has developed — e.g., its infrastructure, industry, universities, arts, et al. — while developing new ones. Both require systemic change in Illinois."

"Shooting yourself and your country in the foot is no way score political points. Yet that’s what Chicago Treasurer Melissa Conyears-Ervin did, earning Chicago the last thing it needs: more ridicule from across the nation through another display of how radical and incompetent our political establishment has become."

Ted Dabrowski made a campaign visit at Honest Abe’s in Morrison Wednesday.

"Luck alone saved us from loss of life on Saturday. Gunfire during the fight between protesters and ICE sounded yet another frightening warning of the consequence of reckless incitement by Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson and their refusal to enforce immigration law.... Only reliance on the rule of law will eliminate the need for aggressive action by ICE. Only enforcement of the rule of federal immigration law will undo the calamity that resulted from an open border. Pritzker, Johnson and their allies must pledge all efforts to restore the rule of law and reject the mob rule that they’ve effectively embraced. Without that, have no doubt that our luck will run out in a worsening spiral of chaos and bloodshed."

Dabrowski’s campaign tour came through Metropolis on Tuesday, Nov. 4. The afternoon consisted of visiting Metropolis City Hall, door-knocking around the town’s neighborhoods, meeting with local residents and business owners along the Market Street, making remarks on the Massac County Courthouse lawn and ending with an informal meet and greet at Fat Edd’s.

“If I’m governor, I’ve got the bully pulpit,” he said. “Expose it. Persuade, persuade, persuade. People don’t want to pay the highest taxes. He added he would not shy away from challenging members of his own party on fiscal issues. “There’s no leadership in the Republican Party,” he said. “We need principles at the top — lower taxes, more jobs, less government.”

“Tuesday was a frightening day for America,” said Illinois Republican candidate Ted Dabrowski. “A dangerous and radical anti-Semite was elected mayor of our most important city with the explicit or tacit endorsement of leading Democrats, including Gov. Pritzker.”

Gov. J.B. Pritzker continues to coarsen political discourse in this country. As recently reported, he said in a speech last month to the Illinois Federation of Teachers that “Trump and his cronies can F*$% all the way off.” Such language debases the office of the governor of Illinois.

"Columbus Day is a day to honor Italian-American heritage and to mark a triumph of assimilation done the right way – by embracing American values while still holding onto one’s roots...Tragically, that time-honored formula for a successful melting pot has been under attack."

Not since segregationists attempted to block enforcement of civil rights laws in 1963 has any major political figure tried to frustrate federal law enforcement more audaciously than Gov. Pritzker. He is flirting with insurrection. Ordinary citizens have become pawns in Pritzker’s relentless quest for headlines that he thinks will earn him the presidency. I call on him to stand down immediately and to constructively cooperate with the federal government on enforcement of immigration laws – laws Illinoisans and all Americans overwhelmingly want enforced.
