The opportunity to mount a political opposition in Illinois has never been more ripe
No state in America has ever plunged from success to dysfunction, purely as a result of bad governance, as Illinois has.
The nation’s highest property taxes. Out-of-control crime. Endless political corruption. Overwhelming debts. The nation’s worst credit rating. Illinoisans are leaving the state in record numbers.
Illinois’ decline is so steep that everyday Illinoisans – including many disenfranchised minorities, Democrats and independents – are thirsting for real leadership and trust in government. They’re finally looking for a political alternative.
And that’s our opportunity.
Together, we can restore Illinois as one of the nation’s leading states for freedom, opportunity and economic growth.

Ted’s Platform
We must return power to the people, remove barriers to prosperity, embrace educational freedom, push political power down to its lowest level and restore the rule of law.

Ted’s Story
Ted Dabrowski is the former president of Wirepoints, where he helped build an Illinois-centric policy research and commentary brand based on straight talk, hard data and fiscal realism. Ted previously worked from 2011 to 2017 at the Illinois Policy Institute, where he served as Spokesman and Vice President of Policy.
Prior to that, Ted spent more than 15 years building out and managing divisions of Citibank’s franchises in the developing, high-growth markets of Mexico and Poland.
Ted’s inspiration to fix Illinois comes from the experiences of his father and mother, who immigrated to Chicago from Poland and Ecuador in pursuit of the American Dream.
Ted and his wife, Ellen, live in Wilmette and are parents to three daughters and a son.
Ted is an avid singles tennis player and a 13-time marathoner.

TED’S INSPIRATION
If you’re a follower of my work, you’ll note the sense of urgency in what I do. My straight-talk about Illinois’ steep decline may be unsettling at times, but I’m passionate about turning things around.
Underlying my effort is a deep gratitude for Illinois and its people, its natural assets, and most of all, its mighty potential. For decades, Illinois was a beacon of economic opportunity and freedom for people around the world and we’re fervent believers it can be a destination state once again.
My parents were just two of the many immigrants attracted to Illinois decades ago.
My father, Tadeusz Dąbrowski, a young Polish merchant marine, escaped communism in 1952 when he jumped ship in Malmo, Sweden.
He came to America by way of Canada, where he worked tough jobs that many would scorn. When he finally made it to Illinois in the late 1950s, he still carried the scars from his time as a young messenger during the Warsaw Uprising. But nothing could ever rob him of his rugged individualism and his love for freedom. Chicago became his launching pad and he would graduate from Northwestern University in 1964.
My mother, Blanca Lopez, arrived in Chicago from Ecuador just a couple of years after my father did. She knew she’d arrived to a place where hard work and hunger for knowledge had guaranteed rewards.

A serendipitous meeting on Chicago’s “L” eventually led to their shared dream of building a family in the country they believed had the best the world had to offer. They faced considerable obstacles, though. The consolidation of three languages, work and school. The creation of a new family without the support of their original ones. And the embrace of American culture and tradition, while de-emphasizing their own, for the sake of their three children.
My parents had a real shot at the American Dream and the rest, as they say, is history.
I’m thankful for the opportunity they got, even though life for them was never easy. The ups and downs were many and real. But Illinois was the place where with deep faith and a strong work ethic, anyone could grit it out.
Today, Illinois is no longer that beacon. Residents are fleeing the state in record numbers. In some places, they’re being forced to abandon their homes and their memories. Bad politics, failed policies and rampant corruption are destroying opportunity and repelling Illinois’ most important asset – its people. Too many families don’t feel they can make it here anymore.

It’s the politics that need to be gutted.
For sure, there are many who’ve already given up on Illinois. After all, there are many great places to work and raise a family in America. And things in Illinois are likely to get worse before they get better. But what can’t go on forever, won’t. The path to fixing Illinois will be long and painful, but I’m ready with the solutions the state needs.
I’m thankful for the freedom to counterbalance the forces that are driving this great state’s decay. And I’m thankful for every Illinoisan who shares in my passion to remake this state into the beacon it once was.
MEET DR. CARRIE MENDOZA
Dr. Carrie Mendoza, an accomplished Emergency Medicine physician with 25 years of experience across rural, suburban, and urban hospitals, knows what it means to be on the front lines. She has treated heart attacks, strokes, overdoses, gunshot wounds, and mental-health crises, all while confronting the failures of a system where clinical reality doesn’t match public health policy. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she witnessed this gap first hand—and it fueled her unwavering commitment to change. Driven by innovation and a passion for justice, she pioneered policy solutions, built coalitions, and testified at state legislatures to challenge the bureaucratic barriers that harm patients. As a medical technology consultant and inventor with two patents, Carrie reimagined care delivery—from Emergency Department communications platforms to telemedicine for nursing homes—and even launched the first-ever Decision Support Tool that calculates detransition risk. Carrie doesn’t just treat patients—she transforms health care.
A proud Chicago native, born at Michael Reese Hospital and raised in Evanston and Winnetka, Carrie is the granddaughter of immigrants including a maternal grandfather who escaped the Russian Revolution. Married for 22 years and grounded by faith, she and her husband are raising three incredible sons. As an observant Jewish family, their values guide Carrie’s leadership every day—rooted in service, resilience, and a fierce belief that compassionate, principled leadership makes a real difference. Carrie is honored to stand with Ted Dabrowski, ready to bring that same spirit to every decision, every debate, and every vote.

Dr. Carrie Mendoza, an emergency medicine physician and the running mate for Republican gubernatorial candidate Ted Dabrowski, also warned about the law’s impact on vulnerable populations. “The very people this law will threaten most are the same people Pritzker claims to champion: minorities, women, and the vulnerable, the disabled and the disenfranchised,” Mendoza warned.
